CHEERLEADING TRYOUT INFORMATION FOR THE

2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

 

Informational Meeting- Thursday, April 11th at 6pm in the East Cafe

Cheer candidates and parents are invited to attend an informational meeting where our coaching staff will review our code of conduct, as well as provide specific information about the program, cheer clinics, conditioning, and try-outs. We will also answer any questions that you may have about the program.

All try-out candidates should join our Google Classroom for more information.

(You must have a “bcsoh” email address to join.)  The code to join is: 6a7780

You must have a current physical on file with Brunswick City Schools in order to participate. This includes participation in preseason activities/workouts!  (Physicals are good for one calendar year.) Students must also be enrolled to attend Brunswick High School during the 2019-2020 school year in order to tryout.

MANDATORY Tryout Clinics- Mon., June 3rd through Thurs., June 6th

Tryout Clinics will be held in the High School’s East Gym from 4-6pm.  (Candidates MUST be in attendance at clinics in order to tryout.) Dress Code for Clinics: Cheerleading or tennis shoes, t-shirt (no All-Star Cheer Team affiliated shirts), knit shorts (no spandex material), no jewelry, hair must be up in a ponytail if possible.  

Cheerleading Tryouts- Saturday, June 8th

Cheer tryouts will be held in the EAST end of the high school.  Specific tryout times will be given the last day of clinics, along with other necessary information including what to wear to tryouts, how and when candidates will learn if they have made a squad.

MANDATORY Meeting for Squad Members– Monday, June 10th

This MANDATORY meeting for all athletes that have made a squad will be held at 2:30pm in the BHS East Cafeteria(This meeting is just for athletes, parents are not required to attend)   

  • It is important for all team members to attend this meeting, as we will be sizing for shoes and clothing.  
  • We also require that Cheer Camp/Clothes down payment be brought to this meeting. We will inform members of the total amount to be paid during clinics, should they make the squad. Payment for additional cheerleading materials will be due at camp in August.
