Varsity Gymnastics placed 2nd tonight at the GCC Championship Meet, resulting in a 2nd Place finish in the GCC Conference, as well.

The Blue Devils came out on top on Vault and Floor tonight!

Top Vaulters tonight were KaraBeth Nemet, Lili Kotar (8th Place), Jordyn Thomas (5th Place), and highlighted by Lana Dakdouk (2nd Place). Emma Gray and Alexis Clark also started us off with improved efforts.

The team had a rough night on Bars, but Jordyn Thomas (1st Place) and Alaina Timko (8th Place) turned in solid performances to keep the momentum going in to beam.

Beam routines have been continually improving through the season and KaraBeth Nemet lead us off with a strong start, on a hit routine. Emma Gray followed with another solid effort and helped to add depth to the team effort. Alaina Timko hit a PR and nailed her routine for a 2nd Place finish.

The team put out their highest team score of the season on Floor, also besting the the rest of the competition. The whole floor line up HIT, lead off by Alaina Timko, and Lana Dakdouk with a PR. Top floor finishers were Alexis Clark (10th Place), KaraBeth Nemet (8th Place), Lili Kotar (5th Place), and Jordyn Thomas (1st Place).

Alaina Timko, Lana Dakdouk, and Jordyn Thomas we’re named All-Conference based on their efforts tonight. Huge congratulations!

Also, Jordyn Thomas is named GCC Gymnast of the Year for the second season in a row, due to her First Place All Around finish!

Now, on to Sectionals Feb. 16th!
