Brunswick bowling started 2019 off on the right note by defeating neighbor-rival Medina 2276-1899. The Blue Devils started strong by shooting a 1003 and leading by 207 pins after game one. Leading the charge was senior Sal Carcione (243-414), senior Aaron Shook (202-354), and junior Anthony Costanzo (223-379).
“This was a good win for us,” said head coach Ryan Jakubczak. “It was a good way to start off the new year. We needed this to get the bad taste of the last meeting out of our mouths. It also helps set us up for the next few weeks. We talked (after the 12/20 match) about limiting our open frames and the guys did a great job making our marks a priority today.”
Brunswick’s schedule over the next 2 weeks includes trips to GCC-rivals Solon (1/14), Mentor (1/16), and Elyria (1/22). They will host Cuyahoga Falls (1/18) and Buckeye (1/25). Brunswick is also scheduled to appear at the Muskingum University Invitational (1/19 – Heath, OH) and the Jaguar Baker Classic (1/26 – Columbus, OH).
