After leading by over 100 pins after game 1, Brunswick boys varsity bowling struggled in game 2.
Game 1 was led by senior captain, Alex Turcheck’s 202 to help the Blue Devils score a 924 and a 108 pin lead.
Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as games of 258 and 234 by Cardinal bowlers proved to be too much for Brunswick to over come. After game 2, Brunswick found themselves down 21 pins going into the Baker portion of the match.
In the Baker games, the only point the Blue Devils would win would be in Game 1 where they defeated Mentor by 20 pins to get to within 1 pin with 2 Baker games left.
“Unfortunately, we struggled to convert our spares tonight, especially in the Baker games,” said head coach Ryan Jakubczak. “We are angry about this loss. Goal number one for us is to win the GCC and this put us in a little hole. I have complete confidence in this team. These boys want to win every time they step on the lanes.”
The Blue Devils are back on the lanes on Sunday, December 16, when they bowl in the Padua Bruin Classic. This tournament will be at Yorktown Lanes in Parma Heights and is scheduled for a 9:00 am start.
