Paced by freshman, Jordan Tucker, the Blue Devils handedly defeated the visiting Solon Comets 2412-2062. Tucker led the charge in Game 1 rolling a 216 to lead Brunswick to an 11-pin win. “We felt this [first game] was too close and that my expectations of the boys are higher,” said coach Ryan Jakubczak about the first game.
Brunswick responded in high-rolling fashion in the second game. Again led by Tucker (279), junior Anthony Costanzo (212) added his own mark on the game. Brunswick finished the team portion up 310 pins going into Bakers.
In a close Baker series, the Blue Devils kept Solon at bay adding another 40 pins to the team total.
“There is no failure except in no longer trying,” said senior captain Alex Turcheck, “The only way we fail is if we gave up and stopped trying, which none of us did.”
Brunswick continues their homestand on Friday when they host defending GCC champion, Mentor. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 start.
