In a 510-pin blowout against Elyria, the Blue Devils put together their highest dual match series of the season. As a team, Brunswick averaged 1014.5 for their 2 teams games.
Leading the charge for the day was senior Josh Gerda. In throwing the highest 2-game series of the season (515), Gerda converted 19 strikes. This includes 16 strikes-in-a-row over the course of 2 games starting in the 4th frame of game 1 and ending in 8th frame of game 2.
Also contributing to this win was junior Anthony Costanzo (255-464) and freshman Jordan Tucker (201).
“This was a great team win tonight,” said head coach Ryan Jakubczak. “It was great to see the guys shoot like we have been talking about all season. These past 2 weeks have been long and it is not over. We have a good team in Buckeye coming in for a visit on Friday. Not only is this a Sectional rivalry, it’s another neighbor rivalry. They have some good young bowlers and we need to bring the same mentality to Friday as we did today.”
The Friday match with Buckeye is scheduled for a 4:00 start at Dick Hoover Lanes.
