Boys Varsity Basketball, Varsity Baseball · Blue Devil Nation to Remember Josh Herron this Friday at Boys Basketball Home Opener

This Friday (December 6th) the Brunswick Blue Devils Boys Basketball Team will open the home portion of their 2019-2020 season when they host The Elyria Pioneers in GCC action.

Friday will also be a special night as the Brunswick community will have the opportunity to remember one of the truest Blue Devils ever to wear the Blue & White.

On May 5th, 2019 our Brunswick community truly lost one of our most loyal and true Blue Devils with the passing of Josh Herron.  Josh, a 2016 graduate of Brunswick High School played basketball and baseball for the Blue Devils. Josh also coached for both the boys basketball and baseball teams at BHS while attending Baldwin Wallace University.  Josh’s battle with cancer was an inspiration for many, far reaching beyond our Brunswick community. Josh showed us all how to live life to the fullest, cherish what we have, and to Win the Day! Josh was a passionate young man and loved Brunswick and being a Blue Devil.  He lived this passion every day both during his time as a student at BHS and as a coach.

In between the Junior Varsity and Varsity games, the Herron Family, Brunswick High School Athletic Department, Brunswick Basketball and Baseball Teams, and all in attendance will have the opportunity to remember Josh.  There will be a video tribute to his life along with some words from BHS Boys Basketball Coach Joe Mackey and a presentation to the Herron Family.

Due to expected attendance at Friday’s game, the freshman game has been moved to 4:00pm.  There will be no admission charged to the freshman game and at the conclusion of the freshman game the gym will be cleared to allow for set-up of the presentation.

Pre-Sale tickets will be available in the Athletic Office Wednesday (12/4), Thursday (12/5) and Friday (12/6) from 7:30am-4:00pm.  Tickets can also be purchased online at Brunswick vs. Elyria (Dec. 6) – Go Fan TicketsAll passes (GCC, BHS All Sports, BHS Student Athletic) & senior free discount will only be honored until the game would become a sell out.  Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets online or in the athletic office.

All fans in attendance will receive a “Win the Day” wristband and the first 150 students who purchase their ticket in the Athletic Office will receive a free “Josh Strong” T-Shirt.

Win The Day!
