Blue Devils News · Brian Dulik & Kim Goessler Recipients of OHSAA SEI Award

Each Year the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) awards a recipient/s from each member high school with the “OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics, & Integrity Award”.  This award is presented to an individual (or individuals) who exemplifies good sportsmanship, is a role model for others, reflects high level of integrity and ethics in dealing with interscholastic athletes, supports and demonstrates positive values, and has had a significant contribution to the youth of their local high school.

The 2019 Brunswick High School recipients of the OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics, & Integrity Award, were Brian Dulik from the Medina Gazette, and Kim Goessler from the Brunswick Athletic Foundation.

Brian Dulik, a 1986 BHS graduate has covered sports for the Medina Gazette and the Associated Press for 27 years.  Brian is a three time Associated Press “Best Sports Columnist in Ohio” recipient and he is also a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America.  Brian volunteers his time and keeps all stats for the BHS girls basketball program.  Brian has shown an incredible commitment to not only our Brunswick Blue Devils, but all student athletes across Medina County in his coverage of high school athletics.  Medina County high school athletes receive some of the best media coverage, from some of the very best sports writers; Brian is certainly one of those writers.

Brian was presented the OHSAA SEI Award from Brunswick High School by BHS Head Volleyball Coach Mande Luttner, and BHS Head Girls Basketball Coach, Anthony Ocacio.

As the President of the Brunswick Athletic Foundation (BAF), Kim Goessler oversees all functions of the athletic booster organization that supports all BHS athletic programs.  Kim also organizes many of the supports that BAF provides the athletic department as a whole, such as the reserved football seating program, refreshments provided at all athletic recognitions & celebrations, management of the indoor concession stand, and so much more.  Kim has been the scoreboard operator for our boys basketball team, and Kim frequently keeps the score book for both our boys and girls basketball programs. Kim has personally led the charge to re-make the athletic record boards outside of the East Gym. Kim does all of this, as a volunteer.  Her commitment and support of BHS athletics, coaches, and student athletes is truly remarkable.

Kim was presented the OHSAA SEI Award from Brunswick High School by BHS Head Boys Basketball Coach, Joe Mackey.

Congratulations to both Brian Dulik & Kim Goessler, the 2019 recipients of the OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics, & Integrity Award from Brunswick High School.
