Girls Varsity Cross Country · Girls Cross Country Qualifies for State Meet for 10th Year in a Row

The Girls Cross Country Team scored a 196 at the Youngstown Regional Meet which earned them a 4th place team finish and qualified the girls for next weekends OHSAA State Championship Meet.  This will be the 10th consecutive season Coach Kerry Hunter’s Girls Cross Country Team has qualified for the OHSAA State Championships.

The Blue Devils were paced by overall individual Regional Champion (and GCC MVP), Junior Emily Bardwell who took race honors with a time of 18:50.23.  Right behind Bardwell was Senior Alyssa Wolf with a time of 19:41.05.  Junior Nichole Gatten rounded out the top three for the Blue Devils finishing 29th with a time of 20:37.75.  Joining Bardwell, Wolf, and Gatten at next weekends state meet will be Freshman Abby Bardwell, Freshman Kaylee Latarewicz, Junior Devin Cannon, Sophomore Emily Watkins, and Freshman Mariah Skocic.

The OHSAA State Championship Meet is held at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, OH.  The Division I Girls race will begin at 3:00pm
