By the end of the first half, Brunswick led 9-0.
In the second half, Brunswick kept possession for long stretches but were unable to add to their lead. In the 62nd minute, Brunswick would tally for the final time. Felician would beat a defender on the wing and play a pass to the center of the penalty area to an on-rushing Joe Multunas. The senior midfielder shot it past Johnson for his first career goal.
Brunswick’s defense did not allow a shot on goal all night. Freshman goalkeeper Gavyn Ernst took the win on zero saves and his record stands at 7–3-1. Johnson for the Panthers took the loss, despite making 18 saves. Sophomore Kyrin Morris came on in relief making four saves.
Multunas earned Man of the Match for his efforts.
“Very happy to see Joe get on the score sheet tonight,” said Coach Dotson. “Joe is an invaluable member of our team. He’s a big piece of the glue that holds us together as a family. It was great to see him get rewarded for all that he does for our team.”
Brunswick next plays when they play host to Greater Akron rival Firestone on Thursday. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
